Trish grew up in a small town in New Brunswick, Canada and her family ate fresh home cooked meals every night. Her family grew most of their own vegetables and would pick fresh fruit and berries to preserve through the winters. This led to an interest in cooking once she moved to Montreal to pursue a Bachelor of Education at McGill University. After moving to Toronto in 1997, Trish worked in real estate and received a diploma in interior design but her true passion remained cooking and recipe development. In 2008, she launched The Seasonal Gourmet, a website devoted to promoting seasonal eating with original recipes, kitchen tips and farmer's market updates. In 2009, The Seasonal Gourmet was included on saveur.com's list of 'Sites We Love'. When she is not testing her own new recipes, she is also a volunteer recipe tester for Cook's Illustrated magazine and a member of Slow Food Canada and the Women's Culinary Network.
